Sound the trumpets!
We made it.
Hello, three day weekend!! Can you believe it? Wasn’t it Memorial Weekend like 2.2 seconds ago?
Currently, I am in the process of packing us up because we’re headed to the mountains. What used to take me about an hour to get Mr. B and I out the door has now resulted in at least a four hour process with Juniper.
You’d think she was a child based on the amount of shit we are loading into the car. So far we’ve got her crate, 17 towels, three rolls of paper towels, dog cleaner, 27 different kinds of chew toys and enough food to make it through the apocalypse. If this isn’t foreshadowing as to what my life will look like when we travel with a kid, I don’t know what will.
Anyway, as I mentioned above we are heading to the mountains. I love spending time up in the high country because it forces you to slow down and enjoy all that mother nature offers. Does that include charcuterie and lots of wine? Um, duh.
My plan is to bring a version of this Stone Fruit and Cheese Charcuterie. You guys know that I am always charcuterie-ing and I thought this was a great way to use up all the summer fruit! Peaches, apricots, plums, oh my! You can use whatever kind of fruit you have in the fridge along with your favorite cheeses. Personal favorites: sharp white cheddar, harvarti, and gouda. Sprinkle in some nuts, hummus and prosciutto if you need to feed a bigger crowd!
Also, coming at ya Monday is my a round-up of all my Favorite Fall Foods. So definitely stay tuned!
Time to hit the road! I hope you all have a happy, safe and fun filled Labor Day Weekend!
