Ginger Simple Syrup

  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 pound fresh ginger, peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup sugar

Instructions

To make the Ginger Simple Syrup:

  • Bring it to a low boil over medium heat, then immediately reduce the heat to low and simmer for 15-20 minutes.
  • Strain out the ginger, then add one cup of sugar into the warm, ginger-infused water. Stir until it’s completely dissolved.
  • Allow it to cool, then store in the refrigerator in an air-tight container. It will stay good for 2-3 weeks.

To make the cocktail:

  • Fill up a cocktail shaker halfway with ice.
  • Add the vodka, apple cider, ginger syrup or liqueur, honey, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, and fresh ginger. Shake until well combined.
  • Strain the drink into a cocktail glass and garnish with granny smith apple and cinnamon stick.
