Cardamom Pear Galette- this rustic pear galette is easy to make and the perfect dessert for any occasion. Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream!
4mediumPears, peeled and sliced into 1/4-inch slices
1/4cupGranulated sugar
1 1/2tspGround cardamom
2tbspAll-purpose flour
1tspLemon juice
1/4tspKosher salt
1pkgStore-bought pie crust
1largeEgg, whisked
Whipping cream or ice cream, for ganrish
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Place the pie crust on a baking sheet. Using a rolling pin, roll dough into a 12-inch circle.
In a large mixing bowl, gently toss together the pear, granulated sugar, cardamom, all-purpose flour, lemon juice, and kosher salt. Spoon the pear mixture onto the prepared pie crust and push the mixture to the edges of the dough, but leave a one-inch border. Take the border of the dough and fold dough over the pears making your way around; overlapping as needed.
In a small bowl, whisk the egg. Brush the top of the border with egg mixture and sprinkle with more granulated sugar.
Bake galette for about 30 to 35 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on a wire rack for 5-10 minutes before slicing and garnishing with whipped cream.
