a cgm giveaway!
Happy Monday y’all.
I am super excited.
Wait. Dare I say flipping ecstatic?
Hmm. That’s not it.
I know. Jazz hands pumped about today’s post.
Today is my very first giveaway on CGM!
Why you ask? Hell, I don’t know. It sounded like a good idea, and well, that’s the way it’s gonna be. Plus, I like you. That may be a better reason.
Alright, so today I am giving away….
one CB2 tray with the inscription: “if you can’t stand the heat, then get out of the kitchen.”
and also, a set of six cheers glasses in six different languages from CB2 as well!
Both of these items would be perfect for outdoor entertaining, especially over the 4th of July.
To enter to win, just leave a comment here telling me about your favorite childhood memory of the Fourth of July. I’ll pick a random winner Thursday 10:00am MST.
Thanks for stopping by!
Holy Moly! This is awesome! I love the tray!
Okay, “family” may not be possible winners – but here's my 4 th of July memory.
The Mathiasmeiers always got together with the Rutherfords for the 4 th of July. Don Rutherford and my dad were best friends, and the Rutherfords had seven – yes seven- kids, all with names starting with the letter “D.”
Don was a crazy, self-made contractor who was wealthy enough to buy us hundredhundreds of dollars of fireworks every 4th of July. Well, the nine of us kids (me and Mikey) had blasted off tons of Black Cats and bottle rockets by 11:00 PM that night. Don decided that wasn't good enough, so shortly before midnight, he went and bought out the rest of a fireworks stand.
Well, you know what happened. We had all these comets and cones and missiles piled into two big wheelbarrows, and some dumb “D” kid tosses a red-hot sparkler into the mix. In about two seconds the whole Chinese gunpowder match starts firing skyward, with whistles and bangs, and turned-sideways comets spewing sparks at us while entire packs of firecrackers popped stacatto into the night. It was awesome! The adults were horrified – except for Don and
my Dad who bust out laughing.
So that was one memorable 4th of July.
Love ya, Moomers
I want that!
Hmmmm… I'm going to go with the summer I was in fifth grade maybe (??) and we went back to New York for the summer. We hung out all day on the beach in Oyster Bay where my dad grew up and waited until dark to watch the fireworks over the water. So fun.
Happy 4th of July week! 🙂
When I was about seven, I learned a valuable lesson on our nation's day of independence. Turns out not everyone refers to all soft-drinks as Coke. The neighborhood kids were all running around with Orange Sunkist, and I thought to myself, “I want that.” So of course, I asked one of the parents for a coke, assuming they were bright enough to know I wanted the can of orange deliciousness. Silly lady came back with a red can of Coke, and I was too proud to admit I wanted something different. I also was too proud to tell her I couldn't drink the Coke, so naturally I drank it and got sick a few hours later. Oh childhood…
Look at you! Giveaways are bigtime! Glad Mr. B is back in town for you. 🙂
Anyway….4th of July! My favorite memory of the 4th is from when I was just a kid…maybe 10 or 11 years old. My dad had an old college friend visiting from out of town, and they (in their infinite college-boy-prankster-wisdom) decided it would be a fun idea to make a giant water baloon slingshot out of some rubber tubing and one of those old happy meal pails from McDonald's (Remember the Halloween pails? They looked like Frankenstein, or a Jack-O-Lantern, or whatever…and they would give you the happy meal in those instead of in a paper bag around Halloween time. Old school.
Anyway, my dad and his buddy proceded to use this slingshot they built (it took three people – one to hold each rubber tube end, and one to pull the bucket with the water baloon back)…and they used it to shoot water balloons at all the golfers. Priceless. 🙂
Hope you're well!
PS – LOOOOOVING those glasses! And the tray. Okay, so all of it.
What a cool idea! My favorite 4th of July memories are lounging on blankets with my cousins, flashing our glow necklaces, and waiting for the fireworks to start.

Those are so cool! One of my favorite 4th of July memories occurred when my Mom forgot to turn the heater off to our pool. We swam in 100 degree water while watching our neighbor's fireworks! It was great! (Except my Mom was a little upset…) 🙂
Love this give-a-way!!!!!
I would have to say my most fave 4th of July memory would be growing up in Lenexa, KS and going to the “I Like Lenexa” 4th of July parade every year. I loved going and watching the Miss Lenexa pageant…ps it's nothing like Toddlers and Tiaras! Then there would be a street fair that night in downtown Lenexa complete with cotton candy, snakes (the fireworks not real snakes) and a great fireworks display!
