Our vacation is over.

WAHHH!

Do we really have to leave this peaceful, tranquil place?

calming.
the perfect getaway.
I was just getting used to listening to the waves crash on the shore each morning, while I sat on the deck and ate my egg sandwich.
I was just getting used to sun filled boat rides in the afternoon, followed by deliciously cooked dinners by the people I love.
I was just getting used to vacation.
Now, it’s back to reality.
The whole family was up early this morning because we had to tidy up a few things around the house before we hit the road. We had a four hour drive back to Kansas City, and then on to the airport.
are we there yet?
The drive was easy, but with a pit stop for lunch in Lamar, MO we were cutting it a little close on time. We arrived back in KC in the nick of time, and headed straight to the airport. (Thanks Mom for taking us!)
Off to Denver we go!
high above.
Our flight was smooth and everything seemed to be okay, but then the captain came over the speaker (probably about 30 miles away from Denver) and said there were large storms around the airport. I thought, no biggie, it will just be a little rough on the descend.
Um, no. He told us that we had to make a pit stop in Colorado Springs to refuel. Refuel? Seriously? Are we going to die?
Apparently, the storms were bad enough that we didn’t have enough fuel to circle Denver International, while waiting for air traffic control to give us a thumbs up to land.
Completely ridiculous, and random.
hello, pikes peak!
We finally landed in Denver around 7pm (an hour later then expected) and then headed home so I could drop Mr. B off with the bags and then went to grocery store to pick up a few items for the week, plus dinner.
I heart you Whole Foods for making my life easier!
Dinner tonight…
– Pork Chili Verde Soup with Cornbread
– Rotisserie Chicken Sandwiches
delish.
Mr. B and I are off to snuggle on the couch and watch True Blood.
But before I bid you farewell, I want to say thank you to my parents, John, Kitty, Jordan, and Mr. B for a wonderful family vacation. I love each and everyone of you, and I am very fortunate to have such an amazing family. Much love you to all!
Alright, see ya tomorrow!
