hiking into the weekend
This weekend is off to a great start!
Yesterday I got a zillion things done around the house. You know laundry, cleaning toilets, dishes, dusting, etc. So I was super excited when Listy called me and asked if I wanted to go on a hike with Megan and her later that afternoon. Yes, please!
We decided to hit up Red Rocks Trail because it’s the quickest to get to from Denver, about a 20 minute drive. The trails around the amphitheater are gorgeous. I have a feeling Mr. B and I will be out here a lot more to get ready for the marathon.
The trail itself was pretty quick to hike, about 40 minutes to the top and then about 30 minutes down. It was perfect because we had baby Chance. Can you see his little smirk? Adorable.
The weather was ah-mazing. Seventy and sunny, with a cool breeze…AND, the trail wasn’t busy because it was Friday afternoon!
We made it to the top and took in the views. Seriously, does this picture not look like a scene from the Land Before Time? Where’s Ducky?
After our hike we headed to downtown Morrison for some grub. Chips and salsa, and margarita’s were on our mind! Mr. B ended up meeting us for dinner so we all chowed down and chatted up a storm. Not a bad way to spend a Friday night.
This morning Mr. B. and I lounged around for a bit and then headed to Gallop Cafe for brunch. I enjoy going to this place because everything they serve is organic and fresh and the service is great. We sat outside on the patio and tried to sort out the rest of our weekend.
I had the breakfast burrito with pork chili slopped on top, and Mr. B had the breakfast wrap. My burrito was good, I just wish I had ordered the same thing as Mr. B. Don’t you hate when that happens?
Now we’re at home staring at this guy…
Lot’s to do this afternoon!
I love the scenery from your hike! So gorgeous! Seventy degrees sounds like absolute paradise. Right now it's about 95-ish here in Texas. Enjoy the weekend!
Thanks! It was a beautiful day. I will try and send cooler weather south. Have a good weekend!
