the brink of summer
Friends!
I’ve missed you. {insert: big hug}
How are you? Did you have a good weekend? Do tell!
Mr. B and I were in Kansas City this past weekend and had a great time. I was able to catch up with my G-Phi homies on Saturday over breakfast at Urban Table (by the way, a huge congrats goes out to Jamie for finishing her fifth marathon in under 4 hours! Holla!). I watched one of my high school friends walk down the aisle and reconnected with the ol’ Andover crew. We walked in Loose Park, ate brunch at Succotash,and sipped cold Boulevard Pale Ale’s. But the best part of this weekend, spending time with my immediate family and finally meeting Ms. Josie June!
Mr. B and I are completely smitten with her. I kept joking with my Mom all weekend that the smell of a baby is addicting…”I just need one more sniff. Just one more sniff.” She definitely looks like Kitty, but has John’s full head of dark hair. The new parents are exhausted as to be expected, but were in good spirits and doing an A+ job. I give them major props because I don’t think I would be so pleasant around visitors with three hours of sleep under my belt! I would probably go Wayne Brady on someone. Unless they brought me three crispy carnitas tacos from Chipotle, and then we’d be cool.
Needless to say, we had a fantastic weekend and looking forward to our next trip back to Kansas City in June. But the fun doesn’t end here! We will be heading to Tulsa in two weeks to meet our other new little niece, Gabriella! 2012 is definitely the year of the girl.
Thankfully this week will be super chill. Other than the Denver Party on Saturday, we are laying low. Can you believe tomorrow is May 1st? Summer is here, folks. On my run this afternoon all the trees in Wash Park were bursting with green leaves. I can’t wait for all the summer adventures to commence – barbecues, camping, and hiking.
I stopped by Whole Foods on my way home from the park and realized that I still need to plant some herbs after seeing these guys. Hmmm….what to plant? Any ideas?
Since the weather was nice, I thought grilling would be fun for dinner. Enter beef kabobs. Love me some kabobs. Not only is dinner on the table in 30 minutes, but there are hardly any dishes. Now that’s what I call win-win situation for a Monday.
Alright, off to watch a little Mad Men and 2 Broke Girls! Have a good evening.
P.S. Happy Birthday Listy!!
I just love summer grilling because there aren't any dishes to do! Yea summer!
So glad to see you this weekend! Congrats on the newest addition to the fam. Love love love you!
Jamie – Thanks!! She's a keeper:)
