a sassy monday
I have a feeling this week is going to fly by faster than a G6.
Am I complaining?
Nope.
Am I excited?
You betcha.
Why you ask?
Mr. B and I heading west on Thursday. We’re not going terribly far, just the next state over. Have you ever heard of Utah? Ever been? Would you believe me if I told you that I have never been? I know two things about the state of Utah – 1) 2002 Winter Olympics were held in Salt Lake City 2) Lots of Mormons. Hmmm, I’m thinking I may need to wiki-y the U-State because apparently I know zilch.
Okay, the real reason why we are visiting SLC is to ski at Deer Valley. Mr. B and I were asked by one of the companies he works with if we would like to come up and stay for the weekend in one of their lodges. Um, yes! Mr. B is good friends with a couple of the guys and it was very gracious of them to invite us up for the weekend. I wonder if they know how to play Presidents and Assholes?
Besides scrambling to get ready to leave town this week, work has been absolute bananas! Every day I receive a call with someone yelling, “May-day, May-day! I need my 5498 tax form ASAP!” Whoa bessie. Unfortunately everything will be an emergency from now until April 15th. Sigh.
It’s good thing that I had on my Fergie boots to keep me feelin’ sassy today!
Gray sweater: Gap
Black top: Banana Republic
Skinny jeans: Nordstroms B.P.
Boots: Fergie
Jewelry: Dillards
Well, and speaking of keeping things sassy, the weather was on a roll today. Dude, fifty-five and sunny again, ahhhh…yeah! I frolicked over to Wash Park after work and decided to soak up the warm rays by jogging a couple of laps around the park.
Fact: January + Spring like temps > June + Winter like temps…write that down.
Since my day consisted of sassy things, I couldn’t end it on a dull note.
Meet Mr. Smoked Bacon Chipotle Salt. My mom put him in my Christmas stocking and said he added the perfect sass to any meat.
Mmmmmm…b-a-c-o-n.
I actually forgot about the flavored salt until I was driving home today from Whole Foods with pork chops in my grocery bags. I began to brainstorm ideas on ways to spice up these chops, and the light bulb immediately went on in my head (don’t you love it when that happens?). Duh, Chipotle Bacon Salt!
I sprinkled the flavored salt over the chops and sauteed them 7 minutes on each side.
Oh do you want to see a picture?
Here ya go…..oh wait. This is part where I apologize for not taking a picture of the juicy pork chop. Apparently my stomach got first dibs.
I hope your week is off to a great start.
Mr. B and I are catching up on a couple of shows tonight. Two of our favorites right now – #Shameless and #HouseofLies
Catch you on the flip side!
Have fun!! OH, and I definitely need to get that salt!
