armpit of america
Mr. B is back.
Cue large gospel choir: “Praise the Lord.”
He arrived back this morning from Hobbs, New Mexico were a cool summer day is ninety-eight degrees. Were dust devils are the size of F5 tornadoes and well, the town is slicker then an oil field.
But, he’s back and I couldn’t be happier.
It’s hard when the one person you care about most in this world (besides your mother) is gone from your life for an extended period of time. I really don’t know how army wives survive. I could barely handle two weeks let alone a full year! Whew bessy, a full year? I couldn’t even imagine.
How do you keep yourself busy when someone you love is gone? Clean? Binge drink? Stare at the wall?
When we arrived home from the airport I showed Mr. B what I had been up to since he left.
I finished the balcony, sort of….still have a few items to add but overall it’s pretty much done.
I found these doormats at Walmart and put them together like a puzzle to cover the floor. I think it worked out okay. I searched for over two weeks to try and find an actual outdoor rug that would fit our odd size balcony so this is what I ended up with.
And the big finale was the CB2 table and chairs. I put the table together myself. Not to shabby. Can’t wait to enjoy a little reading and many meals outside.
After the parade of home improvements we headed to Osteria Marco for a late lunch.
Cheers to Mr. B being back.
We shared the Stuffed Cherry Peppers. Mr. B reminded me that the peppers were served at the Pizza Hut buffet. Funny what we remember from our childhood.
We also split a steak salad and a cubano sandwich.
Now we are off to run errands and catch up on life.
Have a good rest of the day!
