Christmas Eve Run
We made it!
The first stop on the Tour de Kansas: Wichita. We are visiting Mr. B’s family until Sunday and then off to Kansas City.
After a sleepy slumber, Mr. B and I decided that a run was the first thing on our list. Other tasks could wait. We needed something to put us back in working order. The past couple of weeks have been crazy.
Mr. B recommended that we head to Chisholm Creek Park just north of the in-laws house. Now that I think about it, I haven’t been running in Wichita… ever. I mean, I used to run in Andover all the time, but never in Wichita. Weird.
Anyways, we arrived at the trail head and the temp outside wasn’t terribly unpleasant. I was definitely thankful that we brought hats and gloves though.
We decided to do a couple of laps, just something easy to get the blood pumping. In all honesty, I thought this trail would be completely boring and rather dull. But to my surprise, it actually ended up being a ton of fun!
Interactive. That’s the only word I can think of to describe our run. You would jog along the pavement and then zig zag through trees, run over bridges, watch for trail markers, all while keeping a look out for wildlife.
I was definitely not bored. I wish all runs could be this fun!
I think it’s safe to say we are back in working order:)
Now I am off to wrap presents, shower, and devour Shrimp Creole for Christmas Eve dinner.
