the christmas circus
Let the madness begin!
It’s t-minus six days until Christmas, and I have at least four thousand, nine hundred and eighty seven tasks to complete before then. Okay, I might be exaggerating by a couple hundred, but either way I look at my list, there’s a TON of stuff to do before we leave town on Thursday!
Annnnddd…….breatheeeeeeeee.
Why does this time of year make people go bonkers?
I’m surprised there’s not an express lane setup outside the local loony bin for all the Christmas crazies. If the North Pole had it their way, they would put all the pepper spraying, Christmas spirit downers away until after the holidays. Am I right? Right.
Moving on…
Today at work an elf left me a present on my desk.
You have no idea how ecstatic I was that it wasn’t some form of cookie, brownie, or toffee. I think I have eaten my weight in sugary delights these past couple of weeks. What is it with people at work and giving large mounds of chocolates as a gift? Don’t get me wrong I love chocolate, but damn, can’t we give mix it up and get an Amazon gift card instead? Or hell, even a Snuggie?
Anyways, my amazing and fantastic co-worker Brian gave us a personalized ornament that his wife Mary made. Have I ever mentioned that Brian and Mary were high school sweethearts as well as K-State grads? Coolest couple EVER!
Since it was snowing after work, I decided to bypass running in the park and headed to the gym instead. I haven’t done body pump since July so I figured I would give it a go.
The class was way more fun this time around. I credit Jennifer for kicking my tookus over the last three months at boot camp. Push ups and lunges are now done with much more ease.
Once home I started to work on dinner, which I would love to tell you about, but it’s the star of this weeks Foodie Fridays. Do you want a clue? Let’s just say it has a dash of Southern comfort. Any guesses?
And with that, I am off to read!
Amazon Santa arrived this afternoon. I can’t wait to dive into this series based on your suggestions!
Have a wonderful evening!
Wowza! You'll have to tell me how the first book in the Hunger Games is. I've wanted to read it.
Hang in there with Christmas prep!
Love, Moomers
Mom – Will do! Can't wait to see you next week!
