workin’ on the tookus
Mr. B and I were both exhausted last night.
I am going to go ahead and blame our fatigue on the sun going down early. That’s a reasonable excuse, right? Right. It took every ounce of strength to remove my tookus from our bed this morning. Do you think Sky Mall has a bed you can purchase that comes with a built in catapult? That way when I am feeling extremely lazy I can launch myself out of bed.
Just a thought.
I spent my morning sorting through my to-do list for this week because it’s starting to pile up.
Riddle me this: Why is it when you’re gearing up to leave town you feel like there is never enough time to get anything done? For instance, going to the dry cleaners sounds like it will take twenty years. Or is that just me? Brilliant.
After I straightened my weekly to-do’s out in my head over a delicious, piping hot cup of coffee, I headed to work. For some reason when I arrived at work today, I felt a little like David. You know, from David and Goliath. I was really in the mood to conquer tasks and slay a huge giant. Sadly, Goliath was a no show.
Wuss.
Well, let’s talk about today’s outfit.
I am kind of 50/50 on the nude top with the nude shoes. What do you think? I need help!
Since I knew I had boot camp late tonight (7:30pm!) and Mr. B was mountain biking after work, I stopped at Whole Foods to pick up a quick dinner after work. Normally I would cook, but I just wasn’t feelin’ it.
I grabbed some chicken, rice, and vegetables from the hot bar.
Easy dinner for two!
After my meal, I tried to catch up on laundry and do a little bit of packing. I think the big key in preparing to leave town is to do a little at a time, that way you won’t feel overwhelmed the day you leave.
Then it was go time! AHHHHHHH!
I was really nervous about boot camp. I haven’t lifted weights or done anything with my core since last year. Once I started training for my marathon, I devoted every ounce of my time to running.
Even though I was shakin’ in my sneakers when I arrived, I managed to jump right back in. Jennifer has us doing lower body work on Tuesdays and upper body work on Thursdays. My legs got rocked tonight, but in a good way.
We did squats, dead lifts, more squats, abs (which I totally suck at), and lunges until the cows came home. By the end of class my legs felt like glue.
I was going to post my nutritional plan tonight, but I needed to talk to her about adding some additional ingredients to my meals since I am training for a half marathon. I will post something next week and hopefully show you guys some of the moves she has us doing. It’s intense, but fun!
Alright, my tired butt is off to bed!
Have a great night!
For some reason I really think Sky Mall has the “Rise and Shine Catapult Bed.”
I like your outfit for work. I could see it with shiny gold, teal, or red pumps.
Good luck getting out of town. I HATE getting ready for trips. Lines form at the bank, favorite tops disappear.
And 'atta' girl on bootcamp – yeah, let us know your exercises, I need some new ones!
Love, Moomers
A girl after my own heart – her Month-at-a-Glance 2011 calendar at the ready for all things “to do.” No better way to stay on schedule. Good luck with Boot Camp. I'm sticking with the tread mill and wimpy weights.
Dad
In case the birthday present on your list is for me… I'm really interested in the catapult bed. Thanks in advance.
And I always feel like the daily stuff is so hard! The bank is the worst. I hate going there! If I go to the dry cleaners I feel like I deserve a medal.
Love bootcamp! Can't wait to hear about the nutrition plan!
