foodie fridays: mint chocolate monster bars
“Embark on a sweet journey with our enticing creation—Mint Chocolate Monster Bars. A divine fusion of mint and chocolate that transforms every bite into a delightful indulgence.”
Did you believe in monsters as a kid?
Monsters, as in, the scary trucker that hid in your bedroom closet and made you sleep with one eye open because you were afraid he would eat you. Yeahhhh, that monster.
I sure did. Not by choice I should say.
I blame my older brother, John. Sorry! John has an imagination for literature that I would shank someone for. He is the true author in our immediate wordsmith family so in a way I can’t completely blame him for starting his career early. I just hope I get some scrilla’ for being a test subject when his Pulitzer prize-winning novel hits the shelves someday.
Ballocks! Where was I? Yes, old trucker monsters.
My brother told me about this particular monster when I was about eight years old. I will only mention his name once because I hear he is best friends with Beatle Juice and I don’t need those two truckers tracking me down. You think I’m kidding. The monster’s name is: Sand Larver (SL). Yes, I realize it’s quite possibly the oddest monster name, but this fellow had me sleeping on my parents’ bedroom floor for about a month back in the ol’ day.
Mr. SL was a skeleton monster that wore a black, Gothic hood. He lived by the railroad tracks and prowled for kids trying to cross and would gobble them up. Horrifying, right? I stayed clear from tracks while on foot, I would close my eyes every time we drove over them in a car, and I would try to send positive thoughts to Mr. SL in hopes we would spare me.
But as they say, Youth is wasted on the young , I totally should have brought him these mint chocolate monster bars. Maybe Mr. SL was hungry? Hello, he is completely made of bones. What if he was lonely and just wanted to hang out with kids, but got hungry and ate them instead? Have you seen Augustus from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory? What if he needed gluten free food? It would be a tragedy.
Anyways, if you are still fighting off monsters in your closet, you should definitely leave a plate of these monster bars out.
“Conclude your dessert affair with the irresistible allure of Mint Chocolate Monster Bars. A symphony of flavors that leaves your taste buds enchanted and craving more.”
Loved reading your blast from the past story!! So fun!
I also love these bars as a new to me mint person! They sound awesome!
Thank you, my dear! And you should definitely makes these. The M&M mint is soooooo good!
Oh no, no, no. Now I can’t think of anything else but these bars!
Me too! Let’s eat a big ol’ batch together:)
Did you make these for me? Mint chocolate is my absolute fave! Ps… totally believed in monsters. I put my cabbage patch doll at the edge of the bed so it would get her first! {yeah.. I’m pretty much a genius}
Gurrrrrl, you know I did:)
I’m cracking up over your story! That’s what older brothers are for, right?!
P.S. I totally want to devour these bars!! Mint + chocolate is always a winner!
Totes! Wouldn’t trade my brother for anything. Okay, maybe for a batch of these:)
So I totally have a thing for buying M&Ms without having a real plan as to why so needless to say, I have a bag of mint ones that is just waiting to make it into these bars!! And I totally believed in monsters… In fact, when I was teeny tiny, I would tuck my baby blanket in on all sides so the monsters couldn’t get me. {Because you know, a blanket is totally going to stop them…}
Well, the blanket must have worked because you are still here! I might have to adopt your idea when the hubs is out of town:)
That monster sounds horrifying! Something about creepy truckers STILL scares me. I definitely spent some nights on my parent’s bedroom floor. I’m thankful I didn’t have a crafty brother to tell me stories like this one though! 🙂 I love the idea of adding mint to monster cookies…my hubby would flip for these!
Phew! I thought I was the only one that slept on my parents’ floor when I got scared. And yes, you totes need to make these for your hubby!
I think I could eat an entire pan of these in one sitting. I love anything with mint!
Me too! I hope you have a great weekend!
LOL, you’re too funny. I’d feed these things to my monsters in an instant….although they’d probably have to fight me for the last crumbs. These things look awesome!
Right?! These are the perfect distraction to keep them away!
I’m so so so glad you used chocolate chips instead of raisins because those should absolutely be banned from all food that adults eat. Nasty lil buggers. But jeez I really need a bar of this awesomeness!
Eeeeeewwww…raisins? Es no bueno. Chocolate all the way fo’ sure!
My daughter has two monsters, one is called Silly Gumbo and he’s a big eyed owl. The other is Scary Purple Witch and apparently looks just like our dog.
I love your monster bar idea, it’s like the scary version of Santa.
OMG, Jackie, that is adorable! Love the names. And I think Santa would be jelly of these monster bars. Mint chocolate kind of trumps sugar cookies.
So glad I did not have a brother. No way I could deal with all this monster business…when I am at home alone, I still tip-toe around like the boogie man will be right around the corner. I wish I was joking!
I’ll eat monster bars ANY day though. Without the tip-toeing. 🙂
I do too, friend! Whenever the hubs is out of town, it’s boogie man watching central! I’m thinking I need to keep these bars around to ward him off:)
I could about 5 of these right now!
Me too! I hope you have a great weekend!
These would be dangerous in my house, Lauren! My god. Amazing treats!
Thanks, Georgia! Have a great weekend!
These look monstously good! ahahah
Freddy Krueger…he’s my freekin’ nightmare or Oh yeh who can forget Mike Meyer…was that his freeky name? gulp.
Monster bars made with mint? What a great idea!!
Looks very yummy! How do you put 1 and 1/2 eggs in this??
Hi Joanna! I would mix three eggs together in a bowl and then use half the amount. It’s a little wonky of a recipe. Let me know if you have any other questions.
