Brunch is the gateway to the weekend.

An occasion to pause, marinate, and sort through possibilities over a cup of joe or Bloody Mary. And just like an open weekend, brunch’s possibilities are endless: “I’ll have the chicken and waffles. Wait. No. Oooooooh, I know, the smothered breakfast burrito. Or is the Cajun Benedict calling my name?…”

In Denver, brunch locale is mucho important. Denverites will assure you it sets the tone for how the day will unfold. And the Mile High City is known for taking brunch to the max, whether it’s a chef spinning on international cuisine or gaggles of gals occupying half of a hot new spot to sip bottomless mimosas.

There are too many great brunches in Denver for one gal to scope out herself. Sometimes, a gal needs options at home as well. The folks over at Food Should Taste Good have some creative recipes that anyone can whip up like cinnamon almond butter swirl dip, breakfast salad bagel, or my personal favorite, skillet breakfast nachos!

But! If you are looking to venture out into the city for brunch and not quite sure what your hungry for, Food Should Taste Good and yours truly have created the essential brunch guide to Denver . After dining in and around the city over the past seven years, I’ve stumbled on some incredible late-breakfast (or is it early lunch?) food. Check out the guide, but be warned, come ready to eat and drink.

In addition, here are a few more of my favorites places to brunch in Denver – Root Down, Luciles’ Creole Cafe, Linger, Old Major, Sassafras, Beast and Bottle, and Steubens!
