best of brunch guide: denver + a {GIVEAWAY!}
Brunch is the gateway to the weekend.
An occasion to pause, marinate, and sort through possibilities over a cup of joe or Bloody Mary. And just like an open weekend, brunch’s possibilities are endless: “I’ll have the chicken and waffles. Wait. No. Oooooooh, I know, the smothered breakfast burrito. Or is the Cajun Benedict calling my name?…”
In Denver, brunch locale is mucho important. Denverites will assure you it sets the tone for how the day will unfold. And the Mile High City is known for taking brunch to the max, whether it’s a chef spinning on international cuisine or gaggles of gals occupying half of a hot new spot to sip bottomless mimosas.
There are too many great brunches in Denver for one gal to scope out herself. Sometimes, a gal needs options at home as well. The folks over at Food Should Taste Good have some creative recipes that anyone can whip up like cinnamon almond butter swirl dip, breakfast salad bagel, or my personal favorite, skillet breakfast nachos!
But! If you are looking to venture out into the city for brunch and not quite sure what your hungry for, Food Should Taste Good and yours truly have created the essential brunch guide to Denver . After dining in and around the city over the past seven years, I’ve stumbled on some incredible late-breakfast (or is it early lunch?) food. Check out the guide, but be warned, come ready to eat and drink.
In addition, here are a few more of my favorites places to brunch in Denver – Root Down, Luciles’ Creole Cafe, Linger, Old Major, Sassafras, Beast and Bottle, and Steubens!

you have no idea how much i wish i was a colorado local right now! :/
regardless, my favorite brunch dish is usually huevos rancheros or a pile of pancakes–definitely depends on my mood!
Grace – I wish you live in Denver, too! And huevos rancheros is my fav as well!
my favorite brunch has got to be huevos rancheros. i also love eggs benedict!!!
Oooooohhhhhhh…..I’m a Colorado local and I happen to love brunch! My ideal kick off to the weekend is any form of eggs benedict with a big ol bloody on the side.
I live for brunch! I even had a brunch wedding last summer at Arrowhead golf course in Littleton. I fell in love with their eggs Benedict, which I’d never tried before. Their French toast casserole was also decadent. But my favorite be all end all brunch item….. MIMOSAS!! Lol can’t wait to try these brunch recommendations, thanks Lauren!
This is awesome! My favorite thing to do in Denver is brunch on Sunday with my hubby or gal pals. The butternut squash pancakes are my fav at Lola. Ummm, breakfast nachos…yes please!
Having a beer with breakfast, kinda pathetic. Calling that same meal brunch and throwing back a few liquor infused juice drinks….perfectly acceptable. Brunch is an outstanding way to start any day, and Denverites certainly do it right. Call me old fashioned, but my go to brunch is the Classic: 2 eggs sunny, 2 thick slices of bacon, rye toast, and a side of fruit.
brunch is definitely a favorite! My go to brunch is breakfast burrito, there is nothing like a well made breakfast burrito with really great green chili (which is a colorado staple!). 🙂
This is awesome! I am saving this for the next time I am in town!
Leisurely Sunday morning brunches in Denver are one of my favorite activities, and the Blood Orange Mimosa at Beatrice and Woodsley is pretty spectacular. As far as regular brunch favorites, though, I’m all about the breakfast burrito, because, really, how can you go wrong? 🙂
Lately for brunch I have been crushing on Salt & Grinder at 32nd & Lowell. It ends early but the omelette is delicious and packed with arugula. They also have toddy on nitro tap that is heavenly when mixed with stout.
