On Thursday we leave for New York City.
This will be the first time Mr. B and I will both be away from Juniper. I’m kind of freaking out. Never thought I would be that person who would get worked up over leaving a dog at home. Is this foreshadowing what will happen when we have a child? I’m so screwed.
Anyway, since she is still getting over pneumonia and doesn’t have all of her shots yet, we have decided to bring in a dog sitter. Have you ever done this? I know she will be in good hands, but it’s kind of weird leaving your baby with a stranger, right?
The funny thing is Juniper is so freaking smart. We are deep in potty training and she has recently discovered “fake peeing” to get a treat. I love that she is so smart, but the sitter is in for a big surprise. Hopefully, everything will go smoothly. We are only gone for three nights so fingers crossed! But seriously, if you have anything I should know before we leave to prep let me know!
Alright, on with today’s recipe! We have been doing a lot of morning smoothies around the house for simplicity as well as convenience. Mr. B and I have been sticking to either the Blueberry Banana or Berry Ginger variety until recently when I whipped up this Kiwi Pineapple Turmeric Smoothie with Fresh Mint.
It’s like a tropical breeze in the morning! Speaking of a tropical breeze, I really need a vacation. Or just freaking warmer weather in general! Sighhhhhhhhh. Maybe that’s why this smoothie came to fruition. Just blend kiwi, pineapple, honey, turmeric, and ice in a blender. BOOM! Tropical paradise in 30 seconds.
Maybe I should leave one for the sitter?
Kiwi Pineapple Turmeric Smoothie with Fresh Mint
Ingredients:
- 4 kiwis, peeled, sliced in half
- 2 cups frozen or fresh pineapple chunks
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1/2 tsp ground turmeric
- 1 cup ice cubes
- Fresh mint, for garnish
Directions:
- In a blender, add the first five ingredients. Blend until well combined.
- Pour the mixture into two glasses and garnish with fresh mint. Serve and enjoy.

I am definitely going to try this SMOOTHIE. Turmeric is widely used in Ayurveda (Ancient Indian Medication). I have learnt few recipes that are enriched with therapeutical herbs and spices from iahas.com but this one looks really tasty and healthy.
