a cgm holiday giveaway!
Happy Monday friends!
I am super excited.
Ecstatic.
Jumping for joy.
Why?
Today is CGM’s first HOLIDAY giveaway!
Ahhhh…..yeahhhh!
I love the holidays. From the decorative department store windows to Starbucks red holiday cups to twenty-four hour marathon of the Christmas Story, it all puts me in the holiday spirit.
Oh, and speaking of the holiday spirit, I wanted to giveaway two items that I feel can spread the holiday cheer:
– Nordstroms Giftcard!
Let’s be honest the world is a much brighter place with Uncle Norides around. I figure you can buy something nice for yourself or spend it on someone you love. Might I recommend these boots….
And of course, no holiday is complete without some sort of sugary delight!
– Doughnut Pan with Cinnamon Sugar Doughnut Mix from Stonewall Kitchen
Who doesn’t love a doughnut? Give these to co-workers for a gift, make a batch for Christmas brunch, or heck, make a batch for yourself and call it a day!
To enter to win:
Leave a comment below telling me about your favorite Christmas character. Is your favorite character Yukon Cornelius from Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer? Or how about, Ralphie from the Christmas Story?
For additional chances to win:
Follow me on Twitter (or) Like me on Facebook after leaving a comment and you’ll get an additional entry into the drawing! If you already follow me on Twitter or like me on Facebook, one comment counts for TWO entries!
The winner we’ll be chosen by Random.org and will be announced this Thursday!
Thanks for stopping by and Happy Holidays!
I want those boots! I've actually had my eye on a VERY similar pair at Nordies and when I saw your picture wearing these a few weeks ago I wondered if they were the same ones! Not quite but very close.
So, my favorite character is Buddy from the movie Elf. I LOVE HIM!
I didn't even know you had a CGM facebook page, so I liked it now 🙂 How fun!
And since I don't want to copy Deanna up there, I'll say my favorite character is Charlie Brown – his little tree gets me every time!!
I want those boots as well! My favorite character is hands down Cousin Eddie from Christmas Vacation! Just liked your facebook page and I'm now following on twitter!
Wow! What a great give-a-way! You ARE in the Christmas spirit! I will write my fav Christmas character in another post. I have a bit of research to do.
Love, Moomers
So many characters to choose from… how can you make me choose just 1?!? I might have to say the whole cast of A Christmas Story… I really like the teacher… and the bullies… and of course the chinese duck.
Mine is Clark W Griswold, enough said!!!!!!!!
Amy jo
Kevin McCallister…Not sure if Home Alone qualifies as a Christmas movie. AHHH!!!
A doughnut pan: Something I have been coveting but have been unable to justify buying for myself.
Favorite Character: Everything on the island of misfit toys. They kill me every time.
And I follow you on Twitter!
Holy smokes… I love giveaways 🙂
Frosty the snowman was a jolly happy soul, with a corn cob pipe and a button nose, and two eyes made out of coal.
Have I ever told you that as a little girl I used to check on my snowmen in the yard because I really thought they might come to life with no adults around. Oh to be a kid again!
Eddie!! Shiters full 🙂 (Sorry for the curse word on a Christmas post) Love ya!
Ralphie's brother, i can't remember his name but his snow suit is the best! hope you are well my long lost friend
Okay, here is my favorite Christmas character: Bob Cratchit and I will explain why. I don't want the boots, but I desperately want to quote from my favorite Christmas book, “A Christmas Carol,” at this festive time of year.
Bob Cratchit is my favorite for his spirit, good humor, and civility amidst a difficult situation. Read the following:
“You'll want all day to-morrow, I suppose?” said Scrooge.
“If quite convenient, Sir.”
“It's not convenient,” said Scrooge, “and it's not fair. If I was to stop half-a-crown for it, you'd think yourself ill used, I'll be bound?”
The clerk smiled faintly.
“And yet,” said Scrooge, “you don't think me ill used, when I pay a day's wages for no work.”
The clerk observed that it was only once a year.
“A poor excuse for picking a man's pocket every twenty-fifth of December!” said Scrooge. “But I suppose you must have the whole day. Be here all the earlier the next morning!”
The clerk promised that he would; and Scrooge walked out with a growl. The office was closed in a twinkling, and the clerk, with the long ends of his white comforter dangling below his waist (for he boasted no great-coat), went down a slide on Cornhill, at the end of a lane of boys, twenty times, in honor of its being Christmas-eve, and then ran home to Camden Town as hard as he could pelt, to play at blindman's bluff.”
Not only did Mr. Cratchit work hard to provide for his family all year, he rejoiced in Christmas by taking time to PLAY. Despite the cold, despite the chastisement from his boss, Bob Cratchit kept the spirit of Christmas with a light heart.
Elf is my favorite Christmas character. Although, I love almost all Christmas characters. 🙂
Many of you may not remember the annual cartoon version of A Christmas Carol featuring Mr. Magoo as Scrooge Marley. I loved the character and most of all was taken by the Spirit of Christmas Future. The black-hooded ghost with his bony, crooked finger pointed at the graveyard; frightening but memorable non-the-less.
I also liked the narrator snowman in Rudolf – the late Burl Ives. Who doesn't love to hum along to “Silver and Gold?”
Dad
Error message: That should be Ebeneezer Scrooge. Jacob Marley was Scrooge's dead business partner. Sorry for the mix-up. Its past my bedtime!
