Hi friends!

How was your hump day?

There’s been a lot going on at the Grier household this week, and with all the hustle and bustle, I completely forgot that today was the last day of November! Crazy, right?!

One minute we were celebrating Mr. B’s birthday on the beach at A-Basin.

The next I was screaming at the top of my lungs rooting for my beloved Kitties to squash the Texas A&M Aggies in a grueling game of football (K-State won in quadruple overtime)!
Then were deep frying a turkey and playing Connect Four at Friends Thanksgiving.

Followed up with carving my first turkey on Thanksgiving!

I can honestly say that I am sad to see November go.
If you remember, I started this month with a challenge to myself to be thankful for something everyday.
The first couple of days were easy. I was thankful for my iPhone, Wash Park, wine with friends, and pizza (ya know, life’s little joys). In all honesty, I thought this challenge was going to be easy peasy. After about a week, things started to change. I suddenly began to feel ashamed. Sure it was fun to be thankful for gym workouts, car washes and clothing accessories, but I felt I wasn’t grasping the true meaning of what the Thankful Challenge was all about.
After my realization, I re-challenged myself to come up with something that I was truly thankful for that didn’t require an outlet. I would sit at my computer each night and search every nook and cranny of my mind, heart, and soul brainstorming for a proper thanks.
Have you ever tried to do this? It’s probably one of the toughest things I have done in my life. Quietly focusing on your life, loved ones and the universe is no easy task. It made me feel uncomfortable at times knowing that I was selfish, annoying, haphazard, and all out ridiculous most days (just ask Mr. B.). But as the days continued on, my attitude changed. My persona changed. I started to realize after weeks of writing my guts out on my computer trying to come up with a profound thanks everyday that all of it comes down to one thing, life.
I think it’s safe to say that this Thankful Challenge has taught me a few things. I will always be thankful for good red wine, family, and road trips, but at the end of the day, I will always be thankful for life.
Thankful Challenge: Day 30
Today I am thankful for life and all it has to offer.
