I don’t know about you, but once those temperatures start to hang around, I want to bid adieu to my oven.
The best way to combat the heat is by making meals on the grill. There is nothing better than walking into my backyard, firing up the grill, cooking a delicious meal, and having zero dishes to wash.
I’ve got a catalog of late-summer-worthy lamb recipes: Greek Grilled American Lamb Chops, Grilled Steakhouse Lamb Pizza, American Lamb Burger & Frites, and now these American Lamb Sirloin Chop Caprese Sliders. A simple, flavorful dish that uses American lamb leg steaks that is grilled to juicy perfection and piled-high with all the caprese usual ingredient suspects.
Why use American Lamb
I used American Lamb in this recipe. Their lean, nutrient-rich loin sirloin chop is ideal for making a lot of dishes, but they are truly magnificent when used in this late-summer infused meal. Aside from the fact that lamb is one of the most delicious types of protein out there, they are also packed with an array of essential nutrients such as zinc, selenium, and vitamins B6 and B12.

When it comes to making sliders there are no rules. Simple to make, can feed a crowd, and make for scrumptious leftovers. For this lamb-focused version, you will need the following ingredients:
- Lamb Leg Steaks
- Slider Buns
- Fresh Mozzarella
- Tomatoes
- Balsamic Glaze
- Fresh Basil
How to make these American Lamb Sirloin Chop Caprese Sliders
Best kind of sliders shouldn’t be fussy to make. Check out the following steps to make these incredibly delicious lamb sliders:
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. While the grill is heating, place your lamb sirloin chop on a baking sheet to come to room temperature for at least 30 minutes.
- Season the lamb sirloin chop on both sides with olive oil, kosher salt, and pepper. Grill the lamb sirloin chop for about 5 to 7 minutes on each side or until an internal thermometer reaches 145 degrees. Allow the chops to rest for three minutes before slicing into ¼ inch thick slices.
- To assemble: place a bottom bun on a plate. Top with a slice of lamb sirloin chop followed by mozzarella, tomato, basil and drizzle of balsamic glaze. Top with top bun and repeat the process with remaining sliders.

- USDA recommends that lamb sirloin chop be cooked to a safe internal temperature of 145 degrees. Use a food thermometer to make sure that you are cooking the meat right.
- To have perfectly cooked lamb meat, make sure that it is at room temperature before cooking.
- To keep it simple, you can purchase ready-to-go balsamic glaze at the grocery store. It’s always kept in the salad dressing aisle.

- 12 Sliders buns
- 1.5 lbs American lamb sirloin chops
- 12 medium Tomato slices
- 12 slices Fresh mozzarella
- 12 whole Fresh basil leaves
- Balsamic glaze, garnish
- Olive oil
- Kosher salt and pepper
Instructions
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. While the grill is heating, place your lamb leg steaks on a baking sheet to come to room temperature for at least 30 minutes.
- Season the lamb leg steaks on both sides with olive oil, kosher salt, and pepper. Grill the lamb leg steaks for about 5 to 7 minutes on each side or until an internal thermometer reaches 145 degrees. Allow the steaks to rest for three minutes before slicing into ¼ inch thick slices.
