homemade mojito greek yogurt + {Probiotic Drinks Cookbook GIVEAWAY closed!}
“Embark on a flavor journey with our Homemade Mojito Greek Yogurt. A tantalizing fusion of citrusy freshness and creamy goodness awaits, promising a delightful indulgence that redefines yogurt.”
Over the weekend, I put on my big girl panties.
Sometimes a girl just needs to open the dresser drawer, pull out a pair of unmentionables, put one foot in, then the other, and pull ’em up.
I have been contemplating the idea of making yogurt at home. But then I start thinking about the process: milk, saucepans, using a giant thermometer to accurately gauge the temperature, and waiting. Oh, the waiting (have I mentioned that I have the attention span of a three year-old?). After about 5 minutes, my brain hurts and I decide to make nachos instead.
But it wasn’t until I received this beautiful, stunning book, 75 Probiotic Drinks, written by Julia Mueller, author of The Roasted Root, did I finally say, “Ohhhhhh, I can do that.” For those of you who haven’t met Julia, click over to The Roasted Root right NOW! Julia has gorgeous photos and drool-worthy recipes. Plus, she’s a gem!
So, when she asked me to make a recipe out of her new cookbook and review it, I was like, “Heck yes!” This book is full of how-to make probiotic drinks – kombuchi, kefir, ginger beer, etc. But you could imagine my surprise when she shows you how to make your own yogurt, I flipped out. The best part, she makes the whole yogurt making process easy peasy.
If this #yogurtmakingblackthumb girl can do it, so can you! All you do is (almost) boil the milk, let it chillax, remove some of the skin off the top, pour it into a jar, and wait! I decided to make the Mojito version and let me tell you, it feels like a summer oasis in my house right now!
So, wanna’ join me in the yogurt, probiotic-making fun! Well, Julia wants to give away a copy of her cookbook to one lucky reader! Hooray!!! Check out the details below to enter!

I really like plain goat yogurt or plain Greek, but if I go for a flavor, it would be strawberry.
I love vanilla and plain – you can use them in so many things! If I made it at home I bet I would always make blueberry though.
My fave is Greek vanilla – but lately I’ve been loving Dannon Oikos Banana Custard . So yummy!
LOVE your photos of the yogurt and limes and leaves. : )
Mama
I actually prefer plain yogurt to flavored ones and then I mix about 15 million toppings in it to create my own 🙂 Making homemade yogurt has been on my to-do list forever too, glad to hear it’s so easy!
I really love mint and key lime flavors! I’ve come to prefer Greek over regular and would love to make my own yogurt.
Plain Greek yogurt with some boysenberry all fruit jam stirred in = yum!
I love Greek yogurt with honey! There is a richness to it and the honey doesn’t overpower the tang of the yogurt.
I only buy plain Greek yogurt so I’m not limited in my uses, but if I could make my own I think Dulce de Leche would be yummy, or maybe something off the yogurt spectrum….. Bourbon banana maybe?
Natural sugar free blueberry.
What a great way to enjoy probiotics….and mojito flavored….SOLD! Thank you for sharing this recipe!
My favorite yogurt recipe is blending it with fresh mango, ginger and a touch of basil, try it and you won’t regret!
Wahoooo! I’m so glad you made yogurt! It’s always fun having random jars inside random pots inside random places. And the mojito yogurt was by far one of my favorites to make over and over and over again 🙂 High fives for big girl panties and allll the Greek yogurt! Thanks a million, my dear!
Love Greek yogurt with either honey, nutella or key lime! Yummy! Wil have to try the monitor.
Oops. .. mojito!
Mojito flavored yogurt just sounds so dreamy!
I love plain Greek yogurt with honey! I’ve had some that came in honey flavor, which was actually really good too 🙂
I’m partial to vanilla yogurt. But can’t wait to try this.
Thumbs up for big girl panties.. I have yet to find mine, which means I’ve yet to venture down the homemade yogurt path. Love the Mojito vibe with the agave.
Omg so I’m seriously flipping out over here because mojitos are my FAVORITE DRINK EVER and greek yogurt that tastes like a mojito?! Holy balls. I need to make this every morning so when I’m at work, I’ll think (trick myself) that I’m on a paradise beach island resort!!
I like plain Greek or Icelandic skyr with some fresh fruit… Peaches, raspberries, sour cherries, strawberries or kiwi sliced on top for sweetness. Yum!
I seriously always thought yogurt was SO COMPLICATED to make until I Julia’s book entered my life! LOVING this mojito version. Is it summer yet??
I love pineapple yogurt! Thank you so much for the opportunity!
I like strawberry cheesecake and key lime 😉
Greek yogurt with lemon curd mixed through – divine!! Sounds like a great book to have on My shelf 🙂
I like to eat plain Greek yogurt and add a few of my own mix ins…for example…some cereal…some chia seeds…some honey….some peanut butter…some cocoa powder…a banana…cinnamon…or even some brownies :). I like to have some conscientious control over how much sugar will be in my yogurt!
So I’m having mega yogurt making jealousy over here. As I was finishing out the second LARGE tub of yogurt I’d bought in a week this morning, the thought that “maybe I should just start making this stuff” crossed my mind, but I haven’t yet taken the plunge and put on those unmentionables.
Since you have the mojito yogurt covered, how about I made a margarita and we have a little breakfast toast?
I love the coconut flavored greek yogurt!
My favorite yogurt is plain Greek yogurt or the vanilla flavored Greek yogurt.
i like vanilla flavored yogurt.
I love honey!
I love peach yogurt. MMMM.
I love greek yogurt with honey flavors. I have a yogurt maker which I love – it really makes the process dummy proof. I’ve only ever made plain yogurt which I usually doctor with fruit, honey, and or granola. I’ve been wanting to experiment with flavors for the longest time. I absolutely love mojitos so it’s on!
Coconut greek yogurt! It might just be my head playing tricks on me, but the coconut seems to make the yogurt tastes creamier and more rich.
My favorite yogurt flavors are honey and vanilla with chocolate chunks.
Hi Rachel!! You are the lucky winner! Can you email me your mailing address and I will have Julia send you a copy of her book? My email: griermountain@gmail.com Thanks!
I love plain with some honey mixed in.
This sounds ah-mazing! I would love to make my own yogurt so I could make on that is dairy free! Pina Colada I believe is what I would make! So fun and tropical!
My favorite flavor of yogurt is cherry.
Plain unsweetened soy yogurt is my favorite
