the unofficial meal
Make connecting with your mates or loved ones easy with Sabra hummus. Gathering over an impromptu smorgasbord of your favorite snacks before you sit down at the dinner table is where the magic of catching up on the latest ‘first date’ details unfolds, new adventures discussed, and little nuggets are dropped. It’s the unofficial part of the meal where we can be completely free to let the moment take us where we want to go.
Connection.
To connect.
Sounds easy, right?
This simple action is something that often gets brushed aside when running to the next meeting, typing a text, refreshing your Facebook feed, or watching the next Nextflix series hit. I am guilty as charged when it comes to making connection a priority with family and friends.
So, I have a solution. Make connecting with your mates or loved ones easy with Sabra hummus. I am a true believer that there is something organic about gathering over an impromptu smorgasbord of your favorite snacks before you sit down at the dinner table. This is where the magic of catching up on the latest ‘first date’ details unfolds, new adventures discussed, and little nuggets are dropped. It’s the unofficial part of the meal where we can be completely free to let the moment take us where we want to go.
I spent this past weekend back in Manhattan, KS with family – all seventeen of us to be exact!. The agenda for the forty-eight hours we were to be together was packed to the max. But somewhere in between the meetings, attending birthday parties, open houses, shopping, we did manage to have an “unofficial meal” before we all dashed downtown for a sit-down family feast.
The unofficial meal should start with whatever you have in the fridge or pantry: crackers, fresh veggies, or charcuterie style meats and cheeses. Sabra makes the unofficial meal a breeze with their high-quality hummus varieties. Dress up basic hummus with chorizo (my fav!), fresh avocado, sour cream with a hint of lime juice for a quick and sassy Mexican twist.
Or, like I mentioned above, add whatever sides you like – fresh baguette dipped into lemon hummus topped with goat cheese and fresh basil. Colorful carrots and red bell peppers dipped into basil pesto hummus. Your imagination is the limit when it comes to the unofficial meal. Just dip, spread, and let the storytelling begin.

Your cheese platter with the hummus looks amazing. I think it would become my meal if that was in front of me.
Thanks so much, Emily!!
Love the pics and what you ended up doing with the hummus!!
Thank, Gerry! I think everyone knocked it out of the park!
Now this is one heck of a spread!! Count me in!
You know it girl!!
Gahhh all this hummus love on the interweb today. I just pulled a tub out and doing a hummus plate for dinner, because I don’t feel like cooking!

Thanks so much Sandy!! I hope Italy was fabulous!!
I’m major into snacking too, so I’m all about the meal before the meal! Plus it makes the kitchen the place to hang out so I’ve got people to chat with while cooking!
Snacking is our favorite way to start meal time! LOVE that Sabra – great post!
