I love Sundays.

The world is quiet.

The work week still seems far away.

And all you have is time.

Back in the ol’ college days I slept right through them. My night life was more of a concern. I guess I can’t blame my 21 year-old self for needing twelve hours of sleep followed by a huge chicken fajita burrito from Chipotle, while washing it all down with a marathon of Mean Girls. Don’t get me wrong, the 29 year-old me still needs that from time to time, but I am ever so enjoying these quiet days of….

reading a favorite magazine.

eating a balanced breakfast.

sipping dark coffee with a splash cream and natural raw sugar.

Sundays are for your sanity.

Mr. B and I spent the majority of our morning/early afternoon listening to music, researching places we want to visit this year to celebrate our five year anniversary, and catching up on the news.
 Places we are considering:
– Iceland
– Ireland
– Italy
– Southern France
– Hong Kong
– New Zealand
– Hawaii
Where would you go? We still have a lot of decisions to make, but after our research today, I’m pretty sure we may have found the winner! More details to come.
With the rest of the afternoon open and the sun shining, I decided to head west to Evergreen with Katie, Listy, and Chance for a late afternoon hike. Well, things didn’t exactly go according to plan. Poor Listy ended up having a flat tire and needed to leave her car at Firestone to get fixed.
Not to worry! We still managed to get our hike on….but in the city. Katie mentioned that Sloans Lake was about a mile from Firestone and the perfect place for a power walk. I have only driven  by Sloans Lake and was eager for the pedestrian view.
It’s about 2.7 miles around the lake and we gabbed the entire time. I’m telling you, between the three of us we could run a small country. The lake was busy. People were wakeboarding, having picnics, and strolling along the trail. I definitely need to visit more often.
After our walk, we took Listy back to pick up her jeep and then headed home. As soon as I walked in the door, Mr. B wanted to walk/jog! I couldn’t say no to his cute face. We walked around the riverfront by our apartment and enjoyed the gorgeous weather. It had just finished raining and the sun was trying to peak through. Can’t wait for summer to be here full time!

Oh, did you know that the solar eclipse was tonight? Neither did we until some random hippie guy stopped us and said check out the eclipse. We didn’t end up seeing anything, which sucked because I totally looked at the sun like a total bonehead!
Dinner tonight was slapped together in less than 30 minutes – homemade pizza and salad. Store bought pizza dough is a life savor. I have yet to try and make actual homemade dough in fear of it not rising due to high altitude. Well, and I lack the patience, but that’s not the point.
Nom.Nom.Nom.
Now it’s #GameofThornes, #MadMen, and #Borgias time.
Have a good evening!
