mini cherry clafoutis with chocolate whipped cream
Delight in the divine with our mini cherry clafoutis adorned with chocolate whipped cream. A symphony of flavors awaits, promising a delectable journey in every bite.
A cherry stem is not just a cherry stem.
Oh, no.
It’s a “how good are you at making-out indicator”. For those of you who haven’t the slightest clue what I am referring to, let me explain. Remove a stem from a cherry. Place said stem in your mouth and attempt to tie a knot in a stem using only your tongue. AND GO!
Don’t worry, if you were unsuccessful. My cherry knotting record: 2, cherry stems, 17. Those suckers are trickier than they look! Maybe I should have made out with my hand more. Practice makes perfect, right?
Well, thank goodness you don’t have to have magical make-out skills to eat this Mini Cherry Clafoutis with Chocolate Whipped Cream. A claftouis is a traditional baked French fruit dessert and after making this cherry version very well be my new go-to in the mornings. Not only is it easy to whip up this clafoutis, but it’s great to sub in whatever seasonal ingredients you have on hand.
Since cherries are popping up in grocery stores everywhere and bursting with color, I thought it would be the perfect addition to this dessert. Okay, and I may or may not have picked up an extra bag to practice my cherry knotting skills! Don’t judge!
So, if you are craving an inseason dessert, whip this clafoutis up and sharpen those making out skills.

This sounds perfect in everyway. I bet that chocolate whipped cream is to die for!
The chocolate whipped cream is my favorite part! 🙂
I’ve never even heard of clafoutis and I’m probably pronouncing it wrong but it is sure fun to say.
Don’t worry, I don’t think I pronounce it right either! Let’s just eat it instead!
Oh my gosh, gurl! This is Summer stone fruit perfection! And I need it.
Thanks, Ashley!
I think I’m going to try and use the word “clafoutis” at work today.
Example: “Sorry I was late for the meeting, I got tied up looking at a clafoutis on the internet.”
It resembles a German pancake, but has a MUCH cooler name. Can’t wait for some ripe peaches, so I can try to make a Peach Clafoutis!
Clafoutis,
Evan
LOL!! I love it, Evan!! And a peach clafoutis sounds amazing!
this is so gorgeous, lauren!!!
Mwah! Thanks, Claire!
Holy yowza! That looks amazing.
I’ve never heard of claftouis before. I’m so glad I’ve met all these wonderful bloggers to fill me in on everything food that I’m left out of in this world.
Cherries….I’m waiting patiently. Just a few more weeks here in PA.
Hope you had a great weekend!
It will be there before you know it! Thanks, Melanie!

These are so pretty! I love the individual portions – so cute for date night 🙂
You’re a master clafouti-er! I’ve heard it can be difficult to make and yours turned out goooorgeously! I love them cherries all up in that cake. I’ve been looking for an excuse to buy a teeny tiny cast iron pan, and you just gave me one. 🙂
This is seriously stunning!!! T minus one month to cherry season here in Michigan! Boom.
Dude, cherries are where it’s at! Thanks, friend!
Yes pleaaaaase! This looks so dang good. Cherries are my everything.

Beautiful Love!! This looks great. Such a fun idea. Cherries are one of my favorite summer treats. xoxo Miss you already!!
That reminded me of the Friends episode where Rachel tries to tie a cherry stem into a knot using her tongue but chokes instead! LOL! I know, not funny when someone chokes, but LOL!! While I’m lol’ing, could you please pass me a couple of those skillets?! Sphanx! xo
Cherries are SO good right now. I am eating too many! 🙂
These are so pretty. They look and sound awesome!
Lauren, this looks beautiful. I can’t wait for cherry season. We probably have a few more weeks to wait here in MD.

I’m a loser in the cherry stem department. But I am a big winner in the cherry loving department. These look smashing!
I love clafoutis! And I love the idea of pairing it with a chocolate whipped cream–almost like a black forest 🙂
Thank god that tying cherry stems in your mouth is not an essential life skill, because I can’t do it for the life of me.
Cherries are by and large my favorite part of June! Even though I am a complete cherry knot tying failure. But you won’t tell, will you?
