Today I felt confined.
Not because work was the same ol’, same ol’…
But because I was stuck inside and the sun was beaming outside. Denver has some of the most beautiful spring days. In between the rain and random snowfall in May, nothing beats seventy degrees, and a blue bird day.
Even though my day dream of sitting in an Adirondack chair sipping a martini while reading foodie magazines didn’t come true, my day wasn’t a complete bummer.
I stopped by our local wine store on the way home from work to pick up some treats for the weekend. Wines Off Wynkoop is perfect. Mr. B and I always find tons of varietals and different local brews. I consider it to be one of my happy places.
Plus, on Wednesday’s they do wine tastings, which I have yet to do come to think of it.
Afterwards, I headed home and found a package on my front door. Hmmm, what could it be?
My very gracious MIL (mother-in-law), Susie, surprised all of her daughter-in-laws with these super cute tennis bags. I don’t play tennis, at least not yet, but look how many flipping pockets this thing has! I foresee yoga mats, running shoes, and water bottles spilling out of these pockets.
Plus, it came with monogrammed Ziploc bags! Hehe. Thanks Susie!
After I was done prancing around with excitement, I did some chores around the apartment and waited on Mr. B to get home.
Hunger came on quickly when he arrived home so I thought we should walk to down to Mangiano Pronto, a local Italian cafe, and get carry out.
I had the Pollo: shredded chicken, basil pesto, mozzarella, roasted red pepper, and bacon.
Mr. B had the Panza: slow roasted pork loin, bacon, ham, fontina cheese, and spicy aioli.
Both of the dishes came with a garbanzo bean salad and cole-salw on the side. All in all the food was tasty!
Now, I am back at home helping my dad put together a power point presentation for his class. I haven’t used power point in FOREVER but it’s funny how quickly that stuff comes back to you!
P.S. Tomorrow’s Foodie Fridays will be epic. Just sayin.
